Bats are probably one of the most misunderstood creatures on the earth.  Many people fear them and try to destroy where they live.  We are going to learn about these creatures and how they serve a very important place in our ecosystem.  Below you will find web sites which will help you learn about bats and how they help our environment.

Brown Bats in Indiana- Brown bats are very small only about 1 to 2 inches in length.  They weigh less than .25 ounces.  Their fur color is brown and they have pink lips which helps us identify them. Brown bats live mostly in caves but they will live wherever they can since their homes are becoming endangered.  They can live in trees, under bridges or even in attics of homes.   They are helpful to us because they eat bugs and mosquitoes.
